Port Sorell Print

Port Sorell is an extremely popular spot in the summer holidays, or any time really as we are now being ‘discovered’ here in Tassie. Beautiful beaches, a fantastic pier to jump off, great fishing and bird watching. The caravan park is always a chocka and campers come back year after year.

The Aboriginal name is panatana and the estuary area is full of wildlife. There is fish aplenty and an abundance of stingrays, oysters and maybe even a mako or gummy shark too. On the eastern side of the estuary there are many species of bird, wallabies, bandicoots, rabbits and forester kangaroos to name a few.
